We are a leading exporter of grain from the EU, Russia, the Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Argentina and Australia. Global markets, particularly on the supply side, are highly fragmented and in many countries we procure grain directly from the farmer. To support these activities our subsidiaries own or operate processing, storage and handling infrastructure. North Africa, the Middle East and Asia are our prime export markets. Marketing is coordinated through Glencore's subsidiary office in Rotterdam.

Glencore, itself or through its subsidiaries, is a leading participant in the global Sugar business, and is involved in both raw sugar and white sugar sourcing as well as in refining and processing. Glencore’s sugar business activities are coordinated through its subsidiary in London. Sourced mainly from Brazil, Thailand and India, our main destinations are Russia, Indonesia, West Africa and the Middle East.
