Financial Accountant
Location – Chile

Glencore is currently seeking a Financial Accountant to provide expertise and effectively manage all relevant SAP and HFM system, in order to maintain the quality of financial reporting and achieve set targets related to the relevant SAP Finance processes, frameworks and accounting policy.   QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce/professional qualifications
  • Demonstrated understanding of Accounting Standard concepts in the relevant country of hire.
  • Demonstrated oral and written English language proficiency
  • Cross-Cultural Communication skills
  WORKING EXPERIENCE

  • Technical: Self-reliant contributor with distinctive proficiency in Accounting and Costs area with a minimum experience of between 7 and 10 years. Requires detailed knowledge of activities in own functional area and limited knowledge of other functions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborated with multiple groups of internal stakeholders
  • Knowledge of SAP FI module and Accounting Standard (IFRS).
  • Knowledge of local tax regulations
  • Experience working with consolidation system

  KEY RESPONSABILITIES

  • Collaborate with the Financial Controller and Finance Manager to prepare and review the accounting and financial reports.
  • Prepare and maintain account reconciliations in the correct manner and updated monthly.
  • Maintain control of cost distribution and accounts receivable from other group entities.
  • Monitor the collection of accounts receivable on monthly basis
  • Prepare and submit the inputs for weekly cash to Treasury.
  • Keep updated the balance of accounts receivable and supporting documentation such as supporting documentation and contracts.
  • Prepare with information requirements in the process of tax audit, external and internal audit
  • Engage with asset level resources to promote compliance as per governance and corporate policies requirements.
  • Engage and support the team to ensure all accounting and financial activities are executed as per plan.
  • Ensure daily, monthly and quarterly accounting activities across all relevant SAP Finance processes are performed in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
  • Process JE in SAP correctly in line with accounting policy and adequate supporting documentation
  • Execute processes and provide support to the team within the accounting sub function, which includes Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Intercompany Accounting, Fixed Asset Accounting, Cost Accounting, Tax Accounting, Payroll Accounting and Employee Expense Management Accounting as required.
  • Execute and achieve period end close process according to set metrics in SAP and HFM.
  • Request updates to Master Data as required.
  • Conduct regular compliance checks to ensure adherence to SAP processes and controls; request and ensure that team members initiate appropriate master data changes and ensure correct entry of the relevant transactional data in SAP.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission and payments of all statutory tax returns
  • Prepare and analyse key finance reports and costs reports by area, manage General Ledger reconciliations on a monthly basis to ensure financial integrity numbers.
  • Deliver quality, complete, and timely financial reports as required monthly basis, quarterly basis and annual basis
  • Cultivate positive relationships through effective communication and provide constructive feedback to peers on a regular basis.
