Mobile Fleet Technology Lead

Copper South America
                                        To support the implement the global technology strategy in Glencore copper South American assets. The role will provide support in the Technology Transformation business function in the roll-out of studies relating to specific technology initiative activities. The role will undertake the implementation activities required to release the business strategic plan for investment in technology in the Copper South American region.  
FUNCTIONS AND ACTIVITIES

 

• Reporting to the Regional Manager Technology & Digital Transformation
• Identification and Development of the Latam technology initiatives from concept through to Feasibility
• Engagement with site for progression of the technology initiatives
• Engagement of consultants for works initiatives including preparation of scopes, tendering, assessment and award processes
• Monitor Technology Project Pipeline Health
• Analysis of business cases for technology investment
• Coordination with assets and stakeholders on project task delivery
• Management of consultant activities on a day to day basis
• Preparation of reporting for project activities including schedule and cost tracking
• Support regional technology lead in the development of asset technology roadmaps

 

RESPONSABILITIES

 

• Undertake technology opportunity assessments and research and publish application white papers of technology opportunities for Assets in your field of responsibility
• Develop scopes and delivery plans for activities required to be completed under the project plans.
• Submission of initiatives into the Capital Management Framework, gate approvals and regular monthly reporting in CMF formats, aligned with the Technology Investment Framework
• Active management and co-ordination of works in progress
• Management of the consultants and advisors engaged as part of the role
• Interface with asset leadership and operational teams in works in progress
• Cross functional engagement as part of the technology transformation program
• Engagement with the internal stakeholders in copper and other commodities
• Detail plan for achieving Glencore Mine of Future
• Aling Technology Investments and Operational Excellence Practices

 


REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

• >8 years experience in a operations, maintenance, functional roles  in an industrial business
• Experience in finance, strategy development and execution
• Demonstrated experience in operations, maintenance or project management in mining industry
• Background or experience in continuous improvement or change programs
• Experience in financial assessment (desirable)
