Busisiwe Mavuso

I’m Busisiwe Mavuso, from Albion, eMalahleni. Growing up in a community surrounded by mining activities, I was inspired to pursue a career in this field. With a background in Safety and Business Analysis, I founded Busani Mining to contribute to my community and create job opportunities.

In the early days, I wore many hats, facing limited resources and countless challenges. Yet I persevered, driven by a determination to succeed.

Acquiring crucial equipment, which allowed us to enhance our operations and expand our services, was one of our proudest moments. This was made possible by the support of Glencore, who provided steady work for us in the process of Discard Compaction.

Giving back to the community is important to me. Last year, we donated food to a local school, and this year, we’re helping them hire additional teachers.

In the next 5 years, Busani Mining will expand into hauling and loading coal. My advice: if you love it, just do it. You’ll never be fully ready, but you’ll always learn on the journey.
