Commfoot : Empowering the future of local football
Glencore Coal is proud to partner with the Community Football (Commfoot) Programme, the SAFA Nkangala Region and the eMalahleni Local Football Association (LFA), to help develop young soccer talent and strengthen the game in our communities.
With over 180 soccer teams in the eMalahleni area, this partnership ensures that every local player and coach has access to the training, mentorship and resources they need to excel on and off the field.
Commfoot programme was officially launched with an unforgettable celebration featuring South African football legends Doctor Khumalo, Jabu Mahlangu , Frank Makua and Cyril Nzama. These icons joined Glencore employees and the U19 boys' and girls' teams from local clubs at Witbank Stadium, inspiring young players and showcasing the incredible talent within eMalahleni community.
More than just football
Commfoot is designed for boys and girls aged 14-19, combining footballl training with life skills development to encourage discipline, focus, and personal growth. Coaches also benefit from professional training, equipping them to nurture the next generation of players.
