Oreratile Moletsane
My name is Oreratile Moletsane and I am a third-year medical student from Rustenburg. My road to becoming a doctor has been challenging but incredibly rewarding.
Growing up, I imagined myself in many different professions, but as I matured, this imagination turned into a serious interest in medicine – particularly surgery, where every case is unique and stimulating.
Medical school seemed out of reach after facing rejections and silence from universities. But with six distinctions and determination, I turned to Glencore; where I became a first-generation Glencore community bursar. Their scholarship has been a lifeline, providing financial support, mentorship, and guidance, allowing me to pursue my dream without worry.
Looking ahead, I see myself pursuing cardiothoracic surgery because my passion is to constantly seek knowledge and face new challenges.
If you want to go into medicine, my advice is simple: be sure of your passion.
With determination and support, you can achieve your dreams.
