Cookies notice
What are cookies?
When you visit our websites, cookies and pixel tags are used to collect certain information. Cookies are small text files (containing information) which are downloaded to your computer, mobile, tablet or other device when you visit a website, so that each time you return to that website, it remembers your device. Pixel tags (or web beacons) are invisible images that monitor how websites are used. Cookies and pixel tags (together called “cookies”) come in different types. They are needed to make the websites work or work better and, depending on the type, they can allow us to do lots of things like increasing how easily you can move between different pages, remembering your likes and dislikes and choices, making your experience better and collecting information about your number of visits. They help us understand more about the number of people visiting our websites and the pages that are used the most. For more general information about what cookies are and how they work, visit aboutcookies.org and allaboutcookies.org.
What can you do about cookies?
You can control what cookies are allowed to be used on our websites and how long they are kept, by switching them on or off, deleting stored cookies and blocking cookies, but you cannot switch off necessary cookies (see below for more). Click here to manage cookies or manage them through your browser settings.
If you used another site to access our websites, that other site may use cookies or store them on your device. You can manage those cookies directly on their sites but please consider their terms and privacy notices.
We take care to protect your information (even if it was collected by other organisations for example by having contracts that limit how your information can be used), and regularly check that they only use cookies that we have allowed.
Cookies used on our websites by us and other organisations
- Necessary cookies
These cookies are needed for the website to work and for you to be able to do basic things, such as moving between web pages on each website, watching videos and accessing secure areas. Because the websites need these cookies to operate, you cannot switch them off, but they don’t collect information about you to advertise to you nor do they remember other sites you have visited.
Click here for our cookies list - Performance or analytical cookies
These cookies collect information about the way you use the websites, such as the pages and content (such as videos or reports) that you clicked on and viewed most, errors you experience, sites that sent you to our websites (for example an advert, search engine or another organisation’s website) and the number of times you visited the website. The information is de-identified (that means that your name, and other information that can be used to identify you, have been removed) but is useful to help us make our websites better. We sometimes send the information for analytics and search engine providers to help us understand more about what it means.
Click here for our cookies list - Functional cookies
These cookies remember your likes and dislikes and your choices, such as the language, country or font size or colour you selected. They are used to make the websites personal to you.
Click here for our cookies list - Advertising cookies
These cookies work by keeping a unique ID (like a profile) on your device that then links to other information. They are like crumbs that are dropped and then when connected they build a picture about you. This ID and these cookies do not use information that can identify you (such as your name or address). Instead, they collect information about your viewing habits, such as which links you clicked on, web pages you visited, videos you watched and reports you downloaded. They also collect cookies from other sites you visited on your device to understand more about what you like or don’t like and your interests. They do this so that adverts displayed to you are more personal or based on your likes and dislikes. We share this information with carefully selected organisations, that display adverts that are more relevant to your interests. They also make sure that you do not see the same advert too many times.

It is used to maintain a user’s session by assigning a unique identifier, allowing the server to track interactions across multiple requests within a session. It does not store personal data but is crucial for user authentication and state management. |
