IT Officer

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting all IT systems, infrastructure and services within your designated region. As an incumbent in this role you ensure operational stability, adherence to IT policies, and effective communication between end-users, regional teams and the central IT Service Desk. You further provide second-line technical support, manage infrastructure assets and ensure business continuity through sound operational practices and governance, in line with the Glencore Values and Code of Conduct.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensuring reliable network connectivity and system availability based on business requirements.
• Performing daily operational checks on LAN/WAN, VC, VoIP and telephony systems.
• Ensuring backups for all key systems occur daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Managing server provisioning, virtualization, and hardware adjustments as required.
• Managing incidents, requests, and changes within the ServiceDesk.
• Monitoring and maintaining compliance with software, hardware, and configuration standards.
• Conducting quarterly asset verifications and reconciliations in line with internal audit requirements.
• Overseeing the installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of end user workstation, hardware, software and peripheral devices.
• Supporting infrastructure upgrades, relocations and technology rollouts.
• Supporting IT audit activities and maintaining documentation for internal/external review.
