In this role you will be responsible for:
- Supervising the operational processes and ensuring that shift activities meet organizational goals and objectives;
- Performing basic HR functions including training, development, and maintaining discipline of the final product team according to the company procedures;
- Ensuring the personnel have the appropriate PPE in order to promote safety of the team;
- Monitoring mandatory and pre-requisite shift inspections (on production, machinery, crusher plant) are conducted and meet the required set standards;
- Monitoring and enforcing related Contractor management requirements, in order to regulate safe and effective access to the final product and railway area;
- Monitoring adherence to product orders schedules and ensure they are executed timeously by subordinates;
- Ensuring material to be despatched meets minimum ISO standards;
- Ensuring that final product handling and transfers adheres and conforms to minimum ISO standards;
- Monitoring and ensuring adherence to Glencore policies, procedures and works instructions and monitoring compliance to HSEC procedures in an area of responsibility;
- Conducting weekly final product stocktaking in order to ensure required stock levels are available and monitoring of deviations;
- Safeguarding unsafe conditions in the final product area and implementing corrective actions required;
- Ensuring general housekeeping is performed in the final product area by subordinates in order to promote safe working environment;
- Interacting with other stakeholders – internal and external, to ensure compliance and attainment of final product departmental strategic goals;
- Participating in incident and accident investigations, HSEC meetings and campaigns;
- Advancing and promoting Glencore HSEC related programmes and initiatives in order to create a safe working environment;
- Performing adhoc tasks as required by the business from time to time.
About you:
- Grade 12 or equivalent;
- Supervisory Training;
- Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Finance, Business will be advantageous;
- 3 - 4 years supervisory experience in a final product environment, including exposure to sampling; crushing and screening plant; final product handling, stock management, internal and external audits, budgeting and cost management, railway operations and maintenance;
- Basic computer literacy i.e. MES, MS Office and SAP;
- Loco License;
- Shunting License;
- First Aid Level 2;
- Communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Proficiency in English communication;
- Visual estimation and spatial skills
- Numeracy Skills
- Attention to detail;
- Delivering results and meeting customer expectations
