This Global Recycling Day, we’re sharing an overview of our recycling business which is an integral part of Glencore. This animation explores the various smelters, refineries and the network of marketing offices in place.

To drive decarbonisation and for the world to achieve the Paris 2050 Net Zero goal, we believe that combining primary raw materials with recycled materials is necessary to meet the expected demand for metals supporting the electrification of mobility and energy transition at scale.

In the mid-1980s, Glencore’s Horne smelter pioneered technology allowing that same smelter to process end-of–life electronics for the purpose of recovering copper and precious metals. Learn more about how we work to recycle end-of-life electronic components and batteries to help return commodities required for the energy transition back to the market by watching the video below.
