Screening and Shortlisting

During the screening process the local human resources department will  review the information  provided to determine whether you meet the selection requirements of the job.

The screening process may Include phone or face-to-face interviews.

Interview

Interviews at Glencore can take place in-person or online.

This is our way of getting to know you better and gives us a chance to ask you questions about your experience and understand why you are interested in working at Glencore. You can also ask us questions about the role, benefits at Glencore and take the opportunity to learn more about our company.

Assessments

Some selection processes may require you to complete job-relevant assessments. Assessments are used to provide information about your skills, capabilities, personality and motivations for the role.

Background and pre-employment checks

Background checks are important to verify your employment history, qualifications and job specific information.

All candidates that possess qualifications from a recognised education provider will need to consent to Glencore validating these qualifications via a third-party accreditation provider.

All candidates will also be required to declare any actual, potential or perceived conflicts of interest.

Offer of Employment

Any offer of employment from Glencore will come through a formal Contract of Employment, sent to you as a Glencore Company Letter. This will be emailed to you using the address you provided when applying for the role.

Final stages of selection and on-boarding may vary depending on the location and nature of the role you are applying for.

How to spot a fraudulent job posting, email or other recruitment-related communication:

  • Someone asks for money.

At Glencore we will never ask for money from you – in any circumstances. If someone is asking you to send them money, it’s definitely fraud.

  • You receive an email from a non-Glencore address.

We always use official Glencore email addresses, such as firstname.lastname@Glencore.com, or firstname.lastname@Glencore.co.za.

  • The job application is on a non-Glencore website.

All of our official job postings are hosted on https://glencorejobs.nga.net.au

Although our jobs may be advertised on third-party sites such as LinkedIn, the application itself is always on the site above.

  • Someone asks for bank details before we’ve made an official job offer.

We never ask for your bank details until we’ve made an official offer, and we will always ask for your details using an official email address or other official communication channel.

  • You receive a job offer for a role you’ve not applied for.

Before you can receive a job offer, you will always have applied for the job first, and will have been through our selection process, including a face-to-face interview.

If this hasn’t yet happened, then it’s not an official job and you should not take it any further.

Each job is different. Click on the job title in our listings to see the specific requirements for that role. Make sure your application reflects what the job description is asking for.
