2024 Commercial Graduate Programme

A programme designed to prove your commercial aptitude and test your resilience as the front-line support to traders and operators primarily within Traffic, Risk, Middle Office, LME Desk Support, Business Development, with opportunities to rotate between. Exploring other commercial areas of the business can include Operations, who are responsible for the logistical and financial execution of each trade. Entrepreneurial abilities, accuracy, and strong communication skills are the key ingredients for a successful career trading at Glencore.

2024 Risk Management Graduate Programme

Our risk managers work closely with front line traders and operators within Middle Office Risk, Market Risk and Credit Risk. Risk managers monitor physical and derivative exposure whilst assessing the accuracy and validity of mark-to-markets in order to produce profit and loss reports and risk metrics. They provide analysis ensuring that hedging is executed in line with our trading team’s strategy. 

Accuracy, confidence and exceptional analytical skills are key attributes in this area of our business, an aptitude to use and learn a coding language is an advantage. As a key member of the risk team, excellent communication and relationship management skills are required to maintain an independent view whilst also adding value by providing accurate data directly to the trading desk.

We are looking for students who are currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, ideally in Economics, Finance, or Quantitative Finance, and are available to start in 2024. We welcome graduates to join us from January through to December, based on your availability.
