Job Description

As a key member of our site engineering function—reporting directly to the Superintendent—you’ll thrive in a versatile, hands-on position focused on excellence, safety, and continuous improvement. As a leader you’ll:

Lead and champion engineering initiatives to drive efficient, reliable asset performance

  • Lead analysis of equipment performance, identifying chronic issues, root causes, and improvement opportunities. 
  • Develop and manage reliability programs (e.g. condition monitoring, oil analysis, vibration analysis). 
  • Drive defect elimination processes to reduce equipment downtime and costs. 

Data Analysis and Reporting 

  • Provide oversight on failure data, trends, and asset health indicators to recommend proactive actions. 
  • Present reliability reports, metrics, and recommendations to stakeholders. 

Continuous Improvement and Projects 

  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives for equipment reliability and lifecycle costs. 
  • Support or lead projects related to asset upgrades, reliability improvements, and cost reduction. 
  • Lead or facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and implement corrective actions. 
  • Lead the reliability analysis team.  
  • Provide expert support to frontline maintenance and operations teams during equipment failures or complex repairs. 

You’re the ideal candidate if you bring:

  • A proven leadership track record, with strong team coordination and stakeholder engagement
  • A strong safety-first mindset with personal accountability and dedication to teamwork
  • Expertise delivering technical leadership in maintenance environments
  • In‑depth knowledge of preventive maintenance strategies and CMMS (SAP preferred)
  • Proven experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with assets from manufacturers such as Cummins, Komatsu, Caterpillar, and P&H, which will be highly regarded. 
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and previous industry experience.
  • Familiarity with risk management, safe work processes, and Australian industry standards
  • High initiative, adaptability, organization, and ingenuity
  • Advanced analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
