Mt Owen/Glendell Operations (MGO) is an open cut mining operation which utilises truck and excavator mining methods to produce thermal and semi-soft coking coal, which is predominantly exported for domestic power generation and use in steel production. We are located within the Hunter Coalfields at Hebden in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales.

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dynamic Stores Officer to join our team. As part of our site based Commercial team you will report to Supply Coordinator and work a Monday to Friday dayshift only roster.

As the Stores Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, including receipting of freight, stock management and site deliveries. You will conduct stocktakes in line with the supply management framework, complete accurate and timely data entry, and identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities through value-adding innovation and collaboration. You will also support visible leadership practices that contribute to maintaining a safe and compliant workplace.

The requirements for success in this role, include:

  • Relevant purchasing, warehousing and/or inventory management qualifications.

  • Previous experience in the mining industry and similar position.

  • Have a proven track record in the receival, handling and dispatch of items and equipment in the mining and/or industrial sector.

  • A current Forklift Operating licence and NSW Driver’s licence is essential.

  • An advanced level of proficiency in MS Office and SAP (Materials Management) is highly desirable.

  • Ability to manage accurate and timely data entry of transactions and inventory records.

  • Prior experience undertaking routine stock takes and reconciliations for stores items.
