Clermont Open Cut is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our high performing Maintenance & Engineering Department onsite. Located on the western edge of the Bowen Basin, Clermont Open Cut is a high performing truck & shovel operation that produces 12 million tonnes of coal per annum. Clermont Open Cut Operation is a safe, dynamic, and inclusive workplace focused on delivering high performance outcomes. 

Reporting to the Superintendent Planning and Reliability, you will be responsible for identifying issues effecting reliability and developing maintenance tactics to rectify them.  You will work with key stake holders to build and maintain strong working relationships to support effective asset management strategies and systems for the mobile fleet and Coal Handling Facility on site.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Analyse asset performance data to identify reliability issues and collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement targeted solutions

  • Perform cost–benefit analyses to justify maintenance projects that enhance asset health and reliability

  • Liaise with OEMs to review product improvements and ensure timely action where required

  • Support the development and implementation of the Safety and Health Management System (SHMS) as it applies to mechanical engineering

  • Demonstrate visible leadership to promote and maintain a safe working environment

  • Provide expert technical guidance to maintenance planning and execution teams

  • Mentor and develop graduate engineers and vacation students, fostering their technical and professional growth

Requirements of the role include:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline

  • Minimum 2+ years experience within mining/heavy industry

  • Mobile Equipment reliability experience desirable

  • Experience in maintenance management system (SAP) is essential

  • Experience in Root Cause Analysis facilitation will be highly regarded.

  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • QLD Drivers Licence
