About the role:
 
Reporting to the Superintendent, Care and Maintenance, the Supervisor, Facilities Maintenance is responsible for the maintenance planning and supervision of site facilities maintenance at the Coal Mountain mine (CMm). This role will also be responsible with implementing a preventative maintenance program for the site to improve visibility of maintenance costs in the budgeting process. The Supervisor, Facilities Maintenance will have one direct report (Journeyman Pipefitter) and be responsible for the supervision of several contractors, ensuring contractor adherence to the BC Mines Code and EVR’s Health and Safety policies and procedures, and conducting regular job site inspections and audits.

In this role you will:

  • Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
  • Supervise and lead contractors to ensure maintenance related repairs are completed safely and efficiently
  • Work with senior leadership to develop and implement the overall maintenance planning strategy for the site
  • Work to identify maintenance improvement opportunities and identifying maintenance processes which are either missing or are not being utilized
  • Coordinate the development and sharing of ‘Best Practice’ templates for work planning, scheduling and execution
  • Evaluate, develop and implement enhancements to software and hardware that support the maintenance function
  • Deliver accurate budgeting and monthly forecasting of our maintenance program
  • Ensure all major maintenance work is adequately planned and incorporated into the site’s budget through a well-established Preventative Maintenance Program
  • Support the site’s Structural Integrity Assessment Program

Requirements:

  • Mechanical trade certificate, diploma in a relevant technical field, or equivalent technical and operational experience
  • Minimum five years of operational/maintenance management experience in an industrial setting, supervisory experience an asset
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
  • Technical understanding of equipment maintenance and maintenance strategies and their implementation
  • Experience with materials acquisition, planning, and scheduling
  • Experience with budgeting and accrual processes
  • Experience with digital systems and real time monitoring equipment
  • Experience with maintaining potable and sewage treatment systems is an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite®; Outlook, Word, and Excel. Previous experience with Maximo is an asset
  • Familiar with the regulatory environment associated with industrial maintenance processes, and systems
  • BC Mine Supervisor Certificate and Mine Rescue certification is an asset, or willingness to acquire
  • Knowledge of BC’s Health, Safety and Reclamation Code is an asset
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
