Mutanda Mining (MUMI S.A.R.L) is a mining company whose registered office is at No. 4746, Avenue Laurent Désiré Kabila, Mutoshi District, Manika Commune, City of Kolwezi. Its operating headquarters, the center of its main activities, is located about 42 km from the city of Kolwezi in the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

MUMI S.A.R.L is an open-pit mining site used for the extraction of copper and cobalt ores. Mutanda Mining has a hydrometallurgical plant and a sulfuric acid manufacturing plant.

MUMI is recruiting a: "Bowser Operator"

Main objectives of the position

 

Under the direct supervision of the Shift Supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for moving the fuel tanker truck from one specific location to another to refuel various equipment at the times indicated. He/She takes charge of the tanker truck at the beginning of each berth and reports any anomalies observed on the tanker. He/she delivers the fuel at the times indicated according to the procedure in place.

 

Minimum qualification

 

  • Certificate or certificate of competency in driving heavy machinery.
  • Valid national driver's license or its equivalent.

 

Required Experience

 

  • A minimum of two (2) years of proven relevant experience in the use of various heavy machinery (ADT and Manual Truck)
  • Working knowledge of mine site safety, heavy machinery maintenance, and road safety regulations.
  • Comply with Glencore's environmental management requirements and procedures as well as MUMI SARL's environmental policy.

 Required skills

 

  • Knowledge of basic mechanics
  • Good oral and written communication skills in French. Knowledge of English would be an advantage
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Ability to remain alert to hazards related to operations and take all necessary safety precautions
  • Clear knowledge of the policies for dispensing fuel to indicated stations and dispensing fuel from tankers

 

 Key Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure that the truck is kept clean at all times
  • Supply all MUMI equipment and subcontractors
  • Serve fuel at the MUMI site in accordance with the Standard Procedures (SOPs) determined on refueling
  • Conduct daily inspections of trucks to ensure that they are mechanically fit for service
  • Complete approved documents each time a MUMI and/or subcontractor vehicle/equipment takes on fuel
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the shift supervisor.
