Mutanda Mining (MUMI S.A.R.L) is a mining company whose registered office is at No. 4746, Avenue Laurent Désiré Kabila, Mutoshi District, Manika Commune, City of Kolwezi. Its operating headquarters, the center of its main activities, is located about 42 km from the city of Kolwezi in the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

MUMI S.A.R.L is an open-pit mining site used for the extraction of copper and cobalt ores. Mutanda Mining has a hydrometallurgical plant and a sulfuric acid manufacturing plant.

Main objectives of the position

Under the supervision of the Reliability engineer, Reliability technician, will be in charge of analysis of work quality performed on mobile fleet as well as to track performance and reliability across the Light Vehicle workshop.

Minimum qualification

Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering (Auto mechanics/electrical)

Required Experience

Minimum of 4 years’ experience as Mechanics within a mining environment

Required skills

Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance of all light vehicle fleet and trucks.
Basic knowledge of Reliability principle
Action planning
Computer skills

Planning and organising
Policy and procedure
Report writing

Key Responsibilities

Conduct vehicle health assessment when brought to workshop and provide repair recommendation to planning and execution team
Conduct quality control on all vehicles on completion of maintenance activities using appropriate check list
All deviations found after inspection are to be addressed with execution and planning team
Provide KPI report on performance and work management addressing status workshop organisational condition
Involved continuous improvement activities and provide guidance to planning and execution team on emerging issues
Provide and review existing inspection sheet
Conduct root cause analysis of major failures and come up with countermeasures to prevent reoccurrence
Conduct Weekly and monthly reliability meetings where performance is reviewed and deviations addressed
Comply with Glencore's environmental management requirements and procedures as well as MUMI SARL's environmental policy.
