The General Manager – Processing will play a critical leadership role across several major copper projects including MARA, El Pachón, and Coroccohuayco. This role will be responsible for technical excellence in processing throughout the early-stage development lifecycle, from pre-feasibility through to pre-development. The role will lead geometallurgical alignment, flotation process design, and plant engineering efforts across the portfolio.

As part of the Capital Projects Group, this position will collaborate with diverse functional teams to shape advanced flowsheets, support concentrator design and enable the delivery of technically robust and value-driven project outcomes.

This position reports directly to the Head of Project Technical Services and is based in Maidenhead or Santiago, with regular travel to project sites, or another location as agreed.



In this role, you will be responsible for:

Providing technical leadership across copper processing design and development:
  • Define and lead the processing strategy for the MARA, El Pachón, and Coroccohuayco projects.
  • Oversee geometallurgical understanding, flotation process development and concentrator engineering.
  • Align processing design with broader mine planning and operational drivers.
Collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to enable project success:
  • Work closely with teams in geology, geotechnical, mine planning, engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical), HSE, environment, finance, and project controls.
  • Empower mine engineering and geology teams to model key processing drivers effectively.
  • Represent the processing discipline in Technical Committees and IPRs for major studies.
Driving excellence in flowsheet and plant design:
  • Develop, evaluate and optimise processing flowsheets to maximise recovery and efficiency.
  • Promote innovative and cost-effective plant design solutions.
  • Ensure the quality and compliance of all technical deliverables across project stages.

About the profile:


  • Over 15 years of experience in processing within the mining industry, with a strong focus on copper.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Demonstrated leadership in large-scale project development from early studies to execution.
  • Deep technical expertise in flotation, plant engineering and geometallurgical integration.
  • Strong ability to work in complex environments and lead across disciplines.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills, with a performance-driven mindset.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  Additional Certifications and Knowledge (Desirable):

  • Experience participating in Investment Project Reviews (IPRs) and Technical Committees.
  • Familiarity with Capital Management Frameworks (CMF or equivalent).
  • Understanding of financial principles applied to technical project development.
