Reporting to Electrical Maintenance Supervisor, the Instrumentation Technician’s primary responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Safe and efficient installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair of a range of industrial machinery, electrical and instrumentation systems, controls and ancillary equipment; 
  • Supporting the operation in preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance work processes and providing feedback to optimize plant reliability;
  • Adhering to and promoting all safety policies and procedures; 
  • Identifying and recommending opportunities for improvement of area activities 
  • Perform daily tasks documenting activities using Computer Maintenance Management Systems.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate of Qualification as Instrumentation and Control Technician (447A) would be an asset (We are seeking a licensed technician; however, if no licensed candidates are available, qualified apprentices will be considered)
  • Inspect and test operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults using pneumatic, electrical and electronic testing devices and precision measuring instruments
  • Repair and adjust system components, such as sensors, transmitters and programmable logic controllers, or remove and replace defective parts
  • Education training and experience in process automation and control.
  • A motivated attitude, a dynamic approach to getting tasks complete, and pride in accomplishment and craftsmanship;
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance work and complete test and maintenance reports
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with power distribution systems would be an asset

Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 10-hour shifts (Kidd Operations reserves the right to modify working schedules as necessary, in accordance with applicable notice requirements and labor regulations.)
