Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising for Operators to join the team within the Lead Smelter- Sinter and Blast Furnace. These are excellent opportunities to commence a career within the mining industry or further your experience and develop your existing technical skills and industry knowledge.


Positions are residentially based in Mount Isa, working a 2 Day 2 Night 4 Off Roster. Successful candidates will receive a $5,000 sign on bonus (subject to eligibility).

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Maintain plant hygiene and hosing around the plant
  • Carrying out plant checks and cleaning up spills
  • Supply tools and equipment to plant areas
  • Use of crow bars, hammers and jackhammers
  • Running in fluxes and other materials
  • Progressing through to other more challenging tasks within a short timeframe

 


The successful candidate will possess: 

  • Self-motivated with a high standard of work
  • A pro-active approach to safety and continuous improvement
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a small team
  • A current Australian manual driver’s license
