Newlands Closure Project is seeking an engaged and motivated Town Services Superintendent to join our Site Services team. We have finished coal production and are progressing with extensive rehabilitation of our forty-year-old mine. We strive to be industry leaders as we complete Queensland’s largest rehabilitation project to date.

Reporting to the Manager, Site Services QLD, the focus of your role will be the support of site activities through effective management of:

  • Single person accommodation services.

  • Company owned accommodation.

  • Community assets in Glenden and Collinsville.

You will work autonomously to lead a team of tradesmen administering town-based assets, and fulfil the role of Principal’s Representative for facilities management, grounds maintenance contract services, and mine site cleaning activities.

Requirements of the role include:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a related service field.

  • Ability to assist in preparation and management of monthly expense forecasting and claims review.

  • Ability to coordinate between company departments, village and housing residents, and site internal and external service providers.

  • You will be a results focused team player able to successfully implement change.

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will: 

  • Understand KPI assessment and measurement.

  • Lead tradesmen in the completion of safe and efficient maintenance and minor building projects.

  • Be proficient in MS Office suite particularly MS Excel.

  • Demonstrate experience in SAP or related software.

  • Highly motivated, ability to problem solve and have a strong work ethic.

  • Demonstrate an enabling approach to achieve outcomes for the Rehabilitation Project whilst maintaining budgetary discipline.
