Job Description

Reporting to the General Manager, you will provide strong safety, people and production leadership to a team of Superintendents and OCE’s. You will provide strategic and operational oversight, working on and in the business with your team and other functional areas to safely and responsibly meet production targets.

About the Role

  • Set strategic direction and lead and develop the West Pit Mining team.

  • Lead a culture of continuous improvement by challenging the status quo and generating ideas to improve process and people performance.

  • Manage production ensuring delivery to plan (including health, safety, environment & community impacts).

  • Providing leadership and guidance to the Mining team to provide safe and cost-effective removal of overburden and coal.

  • Delivering operational objectives by utilising available resources within the scope of the role and budget.

  • Maintain a high level of positive safety performance and workplace culture through teamwork, personal commitment, and application of the company values.

Roster and Location

  • Monday to Friday dayshift roster.

  • Site based role.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Mining Manager or similar role in a mining operation, including extensive experience in a leadership role.

  • NSW Mining Engineering Manager (Open cut) Certificate of Competence is essential.

  • Mining Engineering or other relevant qualification is preferred.

  • You easily build trust with your team, are adaptable,  authentic and operate with integrity in everything you do.

  • You act courageously and are action orientated with a passion for results.

  • You are passionate about leading teams, holding yourself and others to account and coaching and developing your team.

  • You understand working at the right level and can empower and delegate to your team.
