Minara Resources has an opportunity for an experienced Human Resources Superintendent to join our team onsite.
Minara Resources is Australia’s largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin site in WA’s northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. The Role
This role reports to the HR Manager and is responsible for leading a small team that provides HR support to leaders and employees. The role ensures effective delivery of HR initiatives aligned with business priorities and workforce needs.
You will be responsible for:- Leading and managing the HR operations team with a focus on their continual learning and development.
- Partnering closely with operational leaders to resolve workforce challenges and provide advice on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Advising senior leadership on HR, IR and ER matters, including organisation design, remuneration, recruitment, talent management and succession planning.
- Implementing HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Overseeing end-to-end recruitment and onboarding, ensuring quality candidate selection and effective workforce planning reporting.
- Ensuring compliance with employment legislation, regulations and company policies and standards.
- Using HR data and workforce trends to inform decisions and support business planning.
- Driving the delivery and continuous improvement of HR initiatives, processes, and systems.
- Developing and maintaining efficient workflows to support operational effectiveness and process improvement.
- Providing regular reporting and insights to leadership on key HR metrics including turnover and absenteeism.
This role is ideal for an individual with broad HR generalist knowledge and skills, coupled with highly developed leadership and team-building abilities. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, high attention to detail, and a strong customer service focus.
You will also have:
- Recognised tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management or related discipline.
- Significant experience leading, mentoring and developing a team, preferably in the mining or resources sector.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of HR practices and employment legislation, including the Fair Work Act and WHS Act, with a focus on managing psychosocial risks in the workplace.
- Proven experience in enterprise agreement bargaining, having successfully undertaken this process.
- Extensive experience in salary survey management, benchmarking tools, and a deep understanding of market trends.
- Experience managing injury management processes, with a thorough understanding of applicable legislation.
- The ability to think strategically and translate business needs into HR solutions.
- The aptitude to generate and analyse data and communicate trends, emerging issues, and opportunities.
- Previous experience in system implementation i.e., SuccessFactors.
- Advanced computer skills in Excel and PowerPoint, with proficiency in Power BI.
- WA ‘C’ class driver's licence.
