Mount Isa Mines is seeking suitably qualified and experienced applicants for the role of Advisor - Environment. Reporting to the Senior Environmental Advisor within the HSEC Department, you will be responsible for the monitoring, implementation and reporting for land, air and biodiversity. 
 
The role will also be accountable for developing technical reports, land management, data management and reporting of land, air and biodiversity metrics. This role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys aligning technical knowledge and experience in the resource industry with strategy development and project management. The role is residential to Mount Isa on a 5, 2, 4, 3 (Monday – Friday then Monday - Thursday) rotating roster.

The Role
Queensland Metals are seeking suitably qualified and experienced applicants for the role of Advisor - Environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual looking to develop their career through exposure to a dynamic and challenging environment as part of a large environmental team on one of the most diverse mining complexes in Australia. Reporting to the Senior Environmental Advisor, you will be responsible for delivery of land, air and biodiversity outcomes related to the site requirements and Glencore standards. You will lead and drive the implementation of management plans and monitoring programs including the results analysis and reporting. Your key responsibilities include: 
  • Management, monitoring and reporting on environmental performance – specifically related to land, air and biodiversity.
  • Development, management and participation in monitoring programs.
  • Delivery of the environment department strategy for land, air and biodiversity.
  • Management of the GIS and mapping system (ARCGIS).
  • Liaising and communicating effectively across multiple levels of the workforce and third parties.
  • Managing environmental projects and assisting with the development of Environmental Authority amendments.

The successful applicants will have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in the field of Environmental Science or Ecology. 
  • Experience (3 - 5 years) in mining or heavy industry experience and demonstrated ability in project management.
  • A strong safety focus, required for promoting site safety standards.
    Capability to work both independently and as part of a team to deliver consistent high-quality results.
