Position Overview:
Reporting to the Lead Metallurgist, the Senior Tailings Engineer is responsible for the technical support of the Kidd Metallurgical Site Tailings Management Area (TMA) operation. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Schedule: 4 days/week, 10-hour shifts (Kidd Operations reserves the right to modify working schedules as necessary, in accordance with applicable notice requirements and labor regulations.)

Reporting to the Lead Metallurgist, the Senior Tailings Engineer is responsible for the technical support of the Kidd Metallurgical Site Tailings Management Area (TMA) operation. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing high-level day-to-day direction and technical support for activities within the TMA
- Coordinating with the metallurgical, environmental, maintenance and operations teams to ensure TMA operation meets all Company policy and legislated requirements
- Managing capital and operating projects within the TMA, such as improvement projects, berm raises and dredging campaigns
- Leading and coordinating Spring Melt and Fall Rains Preparation for the Kidd Metallurgical Site
- Acting as a liaison for the Kidd Metallurgical Closed Sites
- Providing direction to the Tailings Working Leader with regards to TMA operation. The Tailings Working Leader is a direct report to this position.
- Providing insight into best operational practices with regards to present and emerging technologies, maintenance activities and coordination and overall TMA management strategy
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in a relevant technical field (e.g. Engineering) with at least 8 years of related operational experience
- Professional Engineering Designation is strongly preferred
- Project Management experience is an asset
