We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Reliability Engineer within our Engineering department at our George Fisher Mine operations. Reporting to the Senior – Asset Management and Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for asset management and several exciting Projects within the Reliability Department.

The Role
This integral role will see the successful candidate challenged in the fast-paced area of asset reliability and maintenance, driving continuous improvement through detailed data analysis and defect elimination principles. The role is responsible for identifying and managing asset reliability risks that could adversely affect operations, along with providing expert knowledge and input into the development and review of asset life cycle plans, maintenance strategies and budgets.

Your key responsibilities include: 
  • Optimizing reliability, eliminating losses, maximizing utilization and asset life in a safe and cost-effective manner.
  • Supporting implementation of the Glencore Asset Management Framework.
  • Identification of critical risk areas and supporting budget planning process.
  • Review, develop and align maintenance strategies
  • Providing technical support to operating and maintenance departments.
  • Mentoring of graduate engineers within the Asset Management team.
  • Work with production, maintenance and other stakeholders to identify and develop engineering solutions to reduce repetitive failures and issues that adversely affect plant operations.
The successful applicants will have:
  • A tertiary qualification - Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an operating process plant environment or mining industry.
  • Experience in RCA Methodologies, Condition Monitoring Techniques and Maintenance Strategy Development.
  • Have a general understanding of the maintenance work management process.
  • Experience in SAP(CMMS)
  • Demonstrated competency with Microsoft Programs Suites.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills.
  • Previous experience in reliability role/s with particular focus on downtime reporting and data analysis, root cause analysis and managing defect elimination programs will be highly regarded.
