Glencore Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising a vacancy that exists for a Boilermaker in the HV & Refrigeration team. This position reports to the Supervisor Utilities, working a 5 on 2 off day shift only roster

The Role
This will require you to provide technical trade support to the Utilities team in a workshop and onsite environment. The ability to bring an innovative mindset and willingness to think creatively will be essential to this role. This is a residentially based position in Mount Isa, working a nominal Monday to Friday roster however, some shift work may be required.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Promoting and reinforcing a culture of safety, operational excellence and continuous improvement
  • Provide maintenance support to a diverse range of areas and equipment.
  • Experience in pipe & structural steel fabrication, sheet metal and welding.
  • Providing a high level service to the Asset Stakeholders in both a planned and breakdown fashion to meet the needs of the business

The chosen candidates will demonstrate:

  • High level of attention to detail and can-do attitude
  • Great time management skills, working independently and in a team.
  • Solid knowledge base around most facets of this field, cutting, gouging, folding, fabricating, welding and quality control.
  • A great level of understanding of the Australian Standards associated with this line of work
  • An Australian recognised trade qualification - Boilermaker (Fabrication)
  • Proficiency in GTAW, MMAW, FCAW and GMAW weld processes
  • Basic to Intermediate knowledge in the use of Microsoft suites, Ellipse and or SAP
  • Enjoy working in collaborative team environment, whilst maintaining a high level of customer focus

As the selected candidate you will hold a current manual Australian driver’s license. Having a Forklift ticket, basic rigger/doggers/HR ticket would be an advantage
