Our Strategy & Innovation team is seeking a Strategic Business Analyst with a solid foundation in mining industry economics, financial modelling, and strategic analysis. This is a permanent opportunity to deliver crucial insights that will shape Glencore Technology’s business and technology strategies, both locally and internationally.
You will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the development of business cases, including NPV analysis, scenario modelling, and cost-benefit studies
- Coordinate delivery of the Management Operating System and associated business reporting
- Conducting mining market and economic analysis to support the Innovation Portfolio
- Coordinate the Enterprise Risk Management program including Critical Control Verifications
- Providing financial and commercial support to stakeholders, including the assessment of project viability and investment priorities
- Contributing to strategic planning portfolio through analysis of macroeconomic trends, competitor intelligence, and industry benchmarking
- Building and maintaining strategic data sources and market intelligence tools
- Identifying and recommending continuous improvement opportunities in business processes and reporting
To thrive in this position, you will need:
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar strategic, financial, or consulting role, ideally in the mining/resources sector
- Demonstrated advanced skills in financial modelling, mining economics, and business case development
- Experience in NPV analysis, market studies, and economic evaluations for mining projects
- Tertiary qualifications in Economics, Finance, or related discipline (Accounting considered with relevant experience)
- Highly developed problem-solving, communication, and collaborative skills, facilitating teamwork across functions and engagement with senior stakeholders
