Collinsville Open Cut is located approximately 160km from Airlie Beach in Queensland, a town known as the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef.  Producing both metallurgical and thermal coal for the export market, the surface mine has a long life and is currently investing in significant upgrades to the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant as well as transitioning from a dragline strip to a truck and shovel terrace operation.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Commercial Manager plays an integral role for the operation through the provision of accurate and timely management and financial accounting information to meet mining operation and corporate requirements. As a member of the Site Leadership Team, you will be a key driver of the financial and operational success of the operation.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Managing the preparation of site budgets and forecasts

• Ensuring compliance with group accounting policies and procedures

• Developing and maintaining an environment of compliance and control in all aspects of the site commercial function, providing stewardship to the operating departments and supporting functions

• Managing the site procurement and supply function, contracts and contract management

• Managing site camp and accommodation booking requirements

• Driving a culture of Openness and Integrity in line with the Glencore Values.

About You:

• Qualifications in accounting/commerce disciplines

• CA/CPA qualifications (desirable)

• Exceptional financial and commercial acumen with a long-term business mindset

• Demonstrated experience in the resource or heavy industry sector

• Hands on leader with the ability to think commercially and strategically

• Able to effectively influence, communicate and collaborate with stakeholders
