Advancing careers. Advancing everyday life.

Glencore is committed to providing an environment that adheres to the Respect at Work Legislation.

Collinsville Open Cut is located approximately 160km from Airlie Beach in Queensland, a town known as the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands and the Great Barrier Reef. Producing both metallurgical and thermal coal for the export market, the surface mine has a long life and is transitioning from a dragline strip to a truck and shovel terrace operation.

An opportunity exists for a motivated and organised Maintenance & Contractor Management Officer to support the Maintenance Department at Collinsville Open Cut. Reporting to the Maintenance and Engineering Manager, this role provides essential administrative, technical and coordination support across maintenance training, contractor management and departmental systems. You will work closely with Maintenance leadership, planners, supervisors, crew trainers, contractors and site stakeholders to ensure training, contractor documentation and compliance requirements are met in a timely and accurate manner. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys structure, systems and supporting operational teams to perform safely and efficiently.

In this role you will:

  • Provide administrative, technical and coordination support to the Maintenance Department, contributing to the efficient day-to-day operation of the site.

  • Manage and maintain maintenance training and contractor documentation, including data entry, records management, reporting, and version control across site systems and databases.

  • Support the scheduling and coordination of maintenance training activities, liaising with supervisors, crew trainers, contractors and internal stakeholders as required.

  • Assist with the initiation, maintenance and filing of Contractor Management Plans (CMPs) and support contractor compliance processes.

  • Prepare and maintain spreadsheets, reports and registers to support training needs analysis, contractor management and departmental reporting.

  • Work autonomously across a varied workload, prioritising tasks to meet operational deadlines and effectively support the Maintenance leadership team.

About you:

  • You have previous experience in an administration, maintenance support, training coordination or contractor management role, ideally within mining, heavy industry or a similar operational environment.

  • You are highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage systems, records and documentation accurately.

  • You are comfortable working autonomously across a varied workload and can effectively prioritise tasks to meet deadlines and support operational requirements.

  • You communicate confidently and professionally with a wide range of stakeholders, including supervisors, trainers, contractors and site personnel.

  • You are competent in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and confident working with databases and site systems; experience with SAP is desirable.

  • You demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, compliance and following procedures, and actively contribute to a positive and respectful workplace culture.

  • You are proactive, reliable and willing to learn, with a focus on continuous improvement and personal development.

What we offer:

  • Option to work a compressed nine-day fortnight working arrangement.

  • An attractive remuneration package, including short-term performance-based bonuses.

  • Accommodation and meals provided.

  • Health and Wellbeing reimbursement.

  • Onsite EAP services.

  • Focus on Career progression including formal training and personal development plans.

  • Provision for Education Assistance to further your studies.
