The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Safety Program Coordinator to join our Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations.

The position will be based in Greater Sudbury, Ontario.

This is a two (2) year contract staff position. 

Range of Pay: $121,000 to $135,000 including salary and variable compensation.

This position is being posted to fill an existing vacancy.

Work location is not accessible by public transportation.

Duties and Accountabilities: 

Reporting to the Risk and Safety Lead (Surface Plants), the Safety Programs Coordinator provides support to Sudbury INO sites in implementing Glencore HSEC/ Human Rights policies, through robust application of Glencore’s SAFEWORK Performance Expectations. The position requires a close working relationship with other risk and safety professionals at Sudbury INO. High quality relationships with various stakeholders will be an important aspect in the success of the candidate as they manage activities within the Sudbury INO Risk and Safety Program and SafeWork program elements.

Education and Skills

This position requires an individual with strong technical knowledge of safety legislation, safety management systems, and field-based safety practices, along with excellent communication, analytical, and planning skills to support the effective coordination and delivery of SafeWork initiatives. The successful candidate will possess a college diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience), with a minimum of five (5) years of field safety experience, including three (3) to five (5) years in the development and implementation of safety management systems.
