Key responsibilities

  • Define current-state operating model for regulatory reporting (process, people, systems, data flows).
  • Lead future-state operating model design, covering governance, roles/responsibilities, oversight, and control frameworks.
  • Establish RACI matrices, process ownership, and handoffs from front-office to middle/back-office and reporting vendors.
  • Identify gaps in organisational capability and design target-state improvements.
  • Map and analyse end-to-end regulatory reporting processes including:
    • Trade capture
    • Trade enrichment
    • Reporting validation
    • Submission & reconciliation
  • Develop optimised processes, ensuring compliance with REMIT, CFTC, and EMIR requirements.
  • Design control frameworks, exception management steps, and reconciliations.
  • Define system change requirements and interface improvements
  • Support technology teams in designing solutions, data pipelines, and integration points.
  • Ensure alignment with architectural standards and IT risk/compliance controls.
  • Interpret and translate regulatory obligations for REMIT, CFTC, and EMIR into actionable business and technical requirements.
  • Review reporting rules and identify impacts on processes, systems, and controls.
  • Work closely with compliance to ensure interpretations and requirements remain aligned with evolving regulations.

Core skills required:

  • Extensive experience as a Business Analyst in regulated financial/energy markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver complex TOM/process/technology change.
  • Expertise in process mapping, requirements elicitation, and documentation.
  • In-depth understanding of REMIT, EMIR, and CFTC regulatory requirements.
  • Experience designing or remediating reporting flows for:
    • Trade repositories (DTCC, ICE TV, REGIS-TR, etc.)
    • ACER reporting
  • Knowledge of the full trade lifecycle across asset classes (particularly commodities, derivatives, power, gas).
  • Experience with UTI/LEI/ISIN/UPI processes and reporting identifiers.
  • Strong data analysis ability (SQL familiarity beneficial).
  • Understanding of ETRM/CTRM systems
  • Ability to work with architects and developers to shape technology solutions.

Experience

  • 7–10+ years in business analysis roles within capital markets or energy trading.
  • Proven expertise in regulatory reporting projects (minimum 2–3 major implementations).

Deliverables expected:

  • Current-state assessments (process, data, technology, controls).
  • Future-state operating model including target processes and governance.
  • Detailed business requirements and functional specifications.
  • End-to-end process maps and control frameworks.
  • Testing support documentation (test cases, results, defect management).
  • Implementation readiness and business transition plans.
