Position Overview
Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, the successful Summer Student will be responsible for:
- Safe and efficient maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection and repairs of mobile maintenance equipment
- Supporting the operation in preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance work processes and providing feedback to optimize reliability
- Adhering to and promoting all safety policies, procedures and systems
- Identifying and recommending opportunities for improvement of area activities or problem equipment
- Perform daily tasks using Computer Maintenance Management Systems
This is a Summer Student opportunity. Position will start in May and run through to August.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must:
- Have a minimum of Level 2 Mechanic Apprentice
- Be a team player
- A motivated and dynamic approach to getting tasks complete and pride in accomplishment and craftsmanship
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, locate, identify and diagnose malfunctions
- Strong ability to work with minimal supervision
- Good interpersonal skills, communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with peers, engineering and management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and interest in continuous learning and improvement
