Mutanda Mining (MUMI S.A.R.L) is a mining company whose registered office is at No. 4746, Avenue Laurent Désiré Kabila, Mutoshi District, Manika Commune, City of Kolwezi. Its operating headquarters, the center of its main activities, is located about 42 km from the city of Kolwezi in the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

 

MUMI S.A.R.L is an open-pit mining site used for the extraction of copper and cobalt ores. Mutanda Mining has a hydrometallurgical plant and a sulfuric acid manufacturing plant.

MUMI is recruiting a: "Logistics Assistant"

Main objectives of the position

 

Under the direct supervision of Logistics Supervisor, the Logistics Assistant will support the Import Logistics team by handling import permits, checking pre-alert documents, and ensuring compliance with import regulations.

He/she will also be responsible for coordinating with consignors and suppliers with respect to BIVAC codes and inspections, producing key import documents, and maintaining appropriate records.

 

Minimum qualification

 

Bachelor's degree in logistics, business administration, or a similar field

 

Required Experience

 

Minimum of one (1) year of experience in import logistics, ideally in the mining industry.

 

 

 

 

Required skills

 

  • Basic understanding of import licensing and customs procedures in the DRC.
  • Organization and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French, English is an advantage.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of customs clearance procedures and transport regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office computer tools (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

 

 Key Responsibilities

 

  • Generate and manage insurance certificates, OGEFREM and BIVAC.
  •  Liaise with consignors and suppliers to provide BIVAC codes and facilitate inspections.
  •  Ensure that all documents are complete and comply with customs requirements.
  • Maintain organized records of import transactions and compliance documents.
  • Work with the Seguce and ASYCUDA systems for customs and import processing.
  • Track the status of shipments and ensure that updates are made on time on the appropriate platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, customs officers and freight forwarders to ensure smooth import operations.
  • Provide administrative support to the Logistics Administrator and Supervisor as required.
  • Update and manage databases to track the status of shipments and documentation.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports and presentations.
  • Adopt safe behaviours in accordance with Glencore standards
  • Comply with Glencore's environmental management requirements and procedures as well as MUMI SARL's environmental policy
