Mutanda Mining (MUMI S.A.R.L) is a mining company whose registered office is at No. 4746, Avenue Laurent Désiré Kabila, Mutoshi District, Manika Commune, City of Kolwezi. Its operating headquarters, the center of its main activities, is located about 42 km from the city of Kolwezi in the province of Lualaba in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

MUMI S.A.R.L is an open-pit mining site used for the extraction of copper and cobalt ores. Mutanda Mining has a hydrometallurgical plant and a sulfuric acid manufacturing plant.

 

MUMI is recruiting: Mechanical Reliability Engineers - Processing Plant

Main objectives of the position

 

 

Under the supervision of the Reliability Superintendent, the Mechanical Reliability Engineer - Process Plant will be responsible for measuring; evaluating the reliability of equipment and the performance of maintenance work, initiating corrective actions as well as improvement plans through data analysis.

 

 

Minimum qualification

 

 

  • Degree in electromechanics (Technical or Civil engineer), mechanical engineering or an equivalent field.
  • Six Sigma Certification

 

 

 

 

Required Experience

 

 

  • Experience required in reliability in copper and cobalt ore processing plants: a minimum of 5 years for a civil engineer, and 7 years for a technical engineer.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and establish analytical methods to determine the reliability of subassemblies, equipment, and processes
    • Perform root cause analysis of system failures and investigate to determine the required reliability approach
    • Review and analyze recurring breakdowns or poor asset performance in the maintenance management system and make appropriate recommendations
    • Ensure that the classified elements of the plant have a valid inspection certificate issued by the statutory inspection body, such as the OCC or the AIA inspector.
    • Identify and manage asset risks that could affect plant productivity and take corrective action by eliminating losses, managing risks, and applying asset lifecycle management techniques.
    • Regularly develop and evaluate the effectiveness of the plant's lubrication program. This includes regular analysis of the results of the oil lab reports and the lubrication program.
    • Develop and communicate key performance indicators for fixed assets (availability, utilization, Average Time Between Failures, Average Technical Time to Repair).
  • Promote an exemplary safety culture by integrating Glencore's requirements and MUMI's safety principles.
