Glencore Singapore Pte Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Glencore Plc. and engages in commodity trading, the Singapore office employs approximately 220 staff working from a single site.We are seeking a self-motivated, commercially oriented and driven individual who can demonstrate a sound understanding of fundamental analysis, commercial acumen, risk assessment and management in the context of a commodities trading environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must. Candidates should also be data oriented and have an aptitude for numbers.This role would suit a well-rounded analytics professional with strong quantitative and statistical skills together with previous industry experience. This demanding role is deeply involved in the day-to-day trading activities of the oil desk.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESReporting to the Head of Risk for the Oil Division in Singapore. Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • To work closely with the traders and operators to ensure accurate and timely entry and maintenance of physical and derivatives trades in the reporting systems.
  • Daily P&L production and reporting.
  • Month end, quarter end, and year-end closing of the books, Day to day activities including posting month-end journal entries, clearing open items, preparation of account analysis and reconciliations.
  • Review of trial balance reports.
  • To assess accuracy and aptness of marks-to-market and monitor and report positions and profit-and-loss, providing commentary where necessary.
  • To monitor pricing exposure and ensure that hedging is executed in line with the trading team’s requirements and company policy.
  • Contribute professional judgment on financial matters, and on ways of improving the controls and processes.
  • Functional managerial duties for small team including graduates.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as the Company may see fit.
