Roles and Responsibilities

  • Identify training needs for HR team, line management, and shop stewards related to Employee Relations and Transformation.
  • Manage sourcing of training providers and oversee training rollout.
  • Coordinate the compilation and submission of Employment Equity Plans, BBBEE reporting and all other industry forum related reports.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant labor legislation and policies, identifying and addressing gaps.
  • Deliver training on new HR policies and monitor adherence within the areas of responsibility.
  • Lead HR assurance for both internal and external assurance on HR standards and any regulator audits.
  • Assists the sites to prepare for assurance processes and audits, ensuring compliance with the requirements
  • Drive initiatives that advance our IDEAL Framework (Inclusivity, Diversity, Equality, Advancement, and Locality), fostering a workplace and culture where these principles are embedded in decision-making, development, and community engagement.
  • Facilitate communication on IDEAL initiatives and support the execution of the employee related surveys, ensuring effective implementation of actions.
  • Assist in creating and implementing terms of reference for consultative forums.
  • Maintain a calendar for forum activities and coordinate actions from consultations.
  • Provide guidance on discipline and dispute resolution processes.
  • Support sites as a Company representative at CCMA proceedings.
  • Conduct reviews of compliance with legislation and policies, implementing controls for consistency.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, managing expectations and providing compliance guidance.
  • Identify and share best practices and trends within Alloys, cultivating networks for knowledge sharing.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Human Resources/LLB/or other relevant NQF 7 qualification.
  • A Postgraduate Qualification in Employee /Labour Relations Management / Labour Law or a Business Qualification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Human Resources, Employee Relations Consulting or an Employee Relations Specialist role.
  • Good knowledge of all South African labour laws.
  • Good knowledge of, and application of transformation legislation as it relates to the smelting and mining industry.
